Sucker Punch....

I haven't blogged for a while.

Well, tonight we rented a movie from the Red Box. Sucker Punch...... all I can say is WHAT THE FUCK!?!?!?!?!? I've read some online reviews of this movie which pretty much echo my sentiments. I see the person responsible for this movie is the same one to bring the world the Watchmen. That was another one that got the big old WTF!? from me. That one was so bad I couldn't even finish watching it. My partner did and said he still didn't understand it.

So far, the only good thing I can say about Sucker Punch is the costumes the girls wear in the whore house segments. I guessed the plot if you could call it that pretty early on. Baby Doll is a girl that watched her mother die. She and her sister were set for life, they inherited a sizable sum and their stepfather didn't get anything. So, in a fit of rage he decided to take out his frustration on the girls. First directed at Baby Doll, but she put up too much of a fight. So, he decided to go after her sister locking Baby Doll in her bedroom. Baby Doll decides to try and help her sister by climbing out her window and getting back into the house finding a gun and trying to do in her step father just before he does any harm to her sister. Well, that plan fails... she accidentally kills her sister instead of the step father. He decides to take this opportunity to stick her in a nut house.

After Baby Doll is checked in the has 5 days to try and escape before she gets a lobotomy, which isn't prescribed by any of the doctors. Once inside, she slips into a fantasy life to help her cope with her current reality. That life is the newest girl in a brothel where she escapes into an alternate life to deal with that reality. With me so far??? If not, don't feel bad it doesn't sound like many people did. The alternate lives within lives gets a bit much. In her brothel life, she has these incredible fantasies along the lines of Anime and Manga. Killing off giant warriors, German Zombies Dragons and Defusing bombs. While Baby Doll is in these states everyone around her only sees her dancing incredibly well which earns her a spot on the stage.


I won't say anymore about the story encase anyone wants to rent it and watch it. I don't want to spoil it for anyone. I will say the movie on a whole had good special effects and CGI. And this movie is basically a pre- teen or teenage boys wet dream come true. Weather one of those teens wants to get it on with one of the girls, or dress like one of them. It's sure to make some young boy go crazy! Possibly girls to seeing as they main characters are girls.
