New week starting...

Hello all,

Well, this is Monday, the begining of a brand new week. New hope, new ideas etc.

Did have a good weekend, spent Saturday in Emmett Idaho. This was the weekend of the annual Cherry Festival in Emmett. Saturday was the car show so naturally, I had to be there! http://www.flickr.com/photos/cauldrongraphix/sets/72157626734498542/ So the pictures got added to my Cherry Festival set on my Flickr account. Lots of beautiful cars dispite the rain. I'd probably have tried to stick it out longer had I not had my Digital camera with me.

Green Lantern; The Movie, my thoughts

Hello all!

This is Saturday the 18th of June, day after the opening of the new Green Lantern Movie.

My partner and I went to catch the 4:50 matinee of this movie. LC was dressed in his lantern attire. I was dressed in a turquoise polo. We went to the Edwards 21 theatre to see it. Pardon my bitchiness... but, when a movie ends.... shouldn't you leave?? We enjoyed the lobby for almost a half hour waiting for the cleaning crew to be able to get in and start cleaning. It honestly didn't seem like there were that many people there. But, they all took their sweet time getting their butts out of the place!

We finally got in and got good seats in the center of the theater. And, we managed to survive all the ridiculous commercials and previews. Although I have to admit Horrible Bosses looks like it'll be a funny movie and I'll go on record as saying I'd like to see it. Maybe I can go with my Jen since it's got Miss Aniston in it? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Os0y9pd7D6g

Back to the Green Lantern, now you have to keep in mind I'm by no stretch of the imagination a comic book reader. I have never read a comic, unless you count Elvira Mistress of the Dark! Anyway, I have seen the Green Lantern animated movies my partner has. So, based on those I have to say there were a couple of things I noticed that were not in keeping with the story. According to the Animated films, Hal Jordan gets his ring and powers from Ebin Sur and is automatically whisked off to Oa to begin his training as a Lantern. The movie depicts Hal getting the Ring and Lantern from Ebin Sur and then waiting a day or two before deciding to see what it would do. Then after seeing that it took another couple of hours before he actually launched off to Oa. Once on Oa that's where he received his Lantern uniform and some minor training.
The animated movie had him go to Oa with his suit and train briefly but he was put out on patrol with Sinestro and more or less accepted his fate as a defender of our sector. The Reynolds flick had Hal suffer some minor embarrassment from Sinestro during training, giving up, going back home to Earth and facing his demons. He comes to learn that although he's not totally fearless he has the courage to overcome fear when he needs to. And as for the Lantern's ability. It's not till the end he learns he not only has the courage but the will to survive.

All in all this is a fantastic movie and I'd definitely recommend it to anyone. It's well worth experiencing on the big screen.
Ryan Reynolds does an excellent job playing the part of Hal Jordan. I know many out there were cringing at the thought of Ryan playing the part and bringing his "usual" Ryan typical smart remarks and such. But, I for one think he did an excellent job, there was just a little of that old Reynolds behavior but honestly it works well for the part of Hal Jordan. Reynolds is also capable of bringing drama to a character. He showed this in Amityville Horror the remake. So, all in all I'd say that Ryan was definitely the best choice. Of course it didn't hurt that Ryan's got a killer bod and looked damn good during the uniform fitting process! :)

Blake Lively made a great Carol Ferris. This was another character that didn't quite follow the animated movie format. She wasn't a pilot in the animated Lantern Movies. She was the successor to her father running his company. In this movie, she's still a very talented and capable air force pilot that Hal uses as a pawn for a test mission they go on. She's working in her fathers company, but still very hands on for what the company produces. Blake was very believable as Carol I thought.

Peter Sarsgaard was Hector Hammond, who according to my partner, was already working for the government in the Comic book and became the hydrocephalus villain due to exposure of a radioactive element fueling Ebin Sur's space craft but remains alive. The movie version he's infected with the power of fear which is ultimately what killed Ebin and Hector

The rest of the cast is made of of at least three people that haven't been on the big screen in a while. Their characters weren't exactly like the comics. But, they were good characters.

So, without (hopefully) spoiling the story line and the movie. This is my review, it's a great movie. It has plenty of action and I'm really looking forward to the sequel.

Me Myself and I

Bon Jour, Hello, Aloha!

My name is Christopher and I live in Idaho. You may ask, where's Idaho? well....... It's in the Northwest part of the United States. Probably close to Alaska as far as being a forgotten relic of the pre civil war days. What i mean by this is.... the state is EXTREMELY conservative not exactly the most Gay Friendly state in the union, but really, what state is? Don't get me wrong, Idaho is a beautiful state. Lots of lush scenery to look at, as long as you head north. The southern part of the state isn't so much beautiful in my opinion as it's dry and desert like. Actually, the area I live (Boise) is kind of in between... We kind of boarder on desert and mountain majesty. Idaho's also known as the Potato State. I happen to be a native tater, born and raised. I guess you could say I'm kind of limited in my worldly experience. Although, I have been to Europe, California, Arizona New York (briefly) Oregon, Washington, Montana and North Dakota. So, i guess I'm not a total shut in either.

I guess a reason for starting this Blog is to create a record of me. To give me something to occupy my time whilst un employed, and to rant, bitch, upload images and what ever else I decide to do. I've been kind of down and depressed lately. No job, no apparent prospects and I just really need to try and snap myself out of it. I have models screaming for attention. My mind tends to wander in case you hadn't noticed. I'll try to keep on topic, but can't guarantee anything!

You may be wondering about my Blog's title. Well, as you may have already guessed I'm gay. Yes, I'm a queer, pillow biter, pufter, rump ranger and fag. I have to admit, the last label isn't my favorite. I like the rest though. My blogs other meaning is... well, my life is just weird! So why not combine the two into one word? My life is not exactly weird, not sure what it is... I mean, it's not like I have circus folk in my family tree or airplanes falling on our house. But, I have to admit if I didn't have bad luck I wouldn't have any at all!

Damnit! Well, my mind has escaped and is wandering. So, I  need to run after it and get it back.
